Note: This plot is based off a manga/visual novel and I just tweaked it and turned it into this because I’m delusional and I cannot resist doing this. So basically, nothing is mine here. ;)

Chapter One: Down the Rabbit Hole

Hey, did you know?

Every game has rules…

It’s been decided since the very beginning…

You know that right?

“Please…I can’t…”

Here, I’ll lend you a hand…

See? We’re connected now.

Cards?

“Ah! Wait!”

The unknown man smiles, he blushed.

“---Min…. Sungmin.”

And with that he slowly wakes up.

“Ah~” he yawns, stretching his arms and rubbing his eyes. “That was a nice nap” though my head sort of hurts. He thought but pushes them away as he stares up at his sister who was smiling at him kindly.

“Oh Sungmin, you really like to have naps outside don’t you” my name is Lee Sungmin. This is Lee Sora, my sister, and I usually spend my Sundays with her in the gardens like this. The woman smiled and sat down beside him, with a soft chuckle. “You were mumbling” she said. “Were you dreaming?”

Dreaming? “yeah, it was a strange dream…” he mutters, trying to recall despite the slight throb in his head “Something about a game…and rules…” his voice trailed off because he didn’t actually remember it at all. He frowns slightly just as his sister smiled at him.

“A game? Isn’t that fun?” she says.

“No, not really, it seemed weird and I don’t know” he told her, then blushed slightly as she giggled in such a ladylike manner. Sungmin found himself sighing and staring at her in admiration. Her sister looked so perfect, she makes even simple Sunday clothes look so elegant and here he was, almost as if he isn’t related to her at all, he looked at his clothes sadly, silently wishing he could be just as well mannered as she is.

She doesn’t have problems with men falling for her too…

Sungmin’s heart gave a light twinge, which he dismisses almost at once, remembering the face of someone he used to like. Used to, because he told himself to forget because he knew the other would never feel the same way. Shaking his head mentally he tried to change their topic, because if this goes one his sister was probably going to notice. “By the way noona, what are you reading?” he asks, looking at her book. “Is it another psychology book?” she loved to read those.

“This? Well, you can call it that, it’s the story of Alice in wonderland” she tells him with a small, and a twinkle in her eyes. “It’s a fairy tale novel…”

“Isn’t the story of the girl who fell down the rabbit hole?” Sungmin frowned; slightly amused that his sister would be reading a children’s book “Wasn’t it just a dream?”

“Yes it was a dream” she answered him with a gentle look on her face, and Sungmin was sort of anticipating there was more to the story than what was written in the books. “That was it”

“Really? That’s it?” Sungmin pouted slightly, he was hoping she wouldn’t say that, but she nodded at him “I didn’t really like Alice in Wonderland that much” he mused, his arms around his knees as he stared up at her, wherein she smiled and patted him on the head.

“That is pity, then how about we play a game instead?” she asked him.

“A game?”

Sora nodded “You’ve dreamt of a game, so you must really want to play one…”

“But I don’t, really…”

“What about a card game?”

Yes, what about a simple game of cards?

Sungmin froze suddenly. “Cards?”

I have to…I have to play cards?

Yes, a card game it is then.

Because that’s the rule.

“Sungmin?” Sora’s voice broke into his thoughts, snapping Sungmin out of his reverie. And he looked up at her slightly confused, what in the world was that? His sister was standing up now, smiling at him “Are you still tired? I will go and get the cards okay?” Sungmin found himself nodding at her, but not really listening “Don’t fall asleep while I’m gone”
“Okay” Sungmin answered, staring at her back while she was walking away, but as she did, he suddenly got drowsy. “Wow, that’s weird” he thought “My head is spinning” he stared at the sky “it’s such a nice day…” he couldn’t help it, he lied back down and turned to his side, feeling his eyes droop sleepily at once. “Ah, I can’t help it; I’m sorry noona, just a little bit…”

Sungmin closed his eyes.

Then something woke him up from his sleep, a rustling sound that was coming from the direction of the bushes. Sungmin poked one eye open, something was at the end of the clearing, but he couldn’t exactly tell what it was. He blinked again; not exactly sure of what to make with what he was seeing.

A rabbit with clothes?! And a pocket watch?!

Sungmin blinked again, “I must be dreaming, aren’t I?” he tells himself, before closing his eyes again, it must be the heat of the afternoon playing with him. But he blinked and it seemed like the white rabbit was going closer to where he was. He closed his eyes again.

“You! Hey! Wake up! What do you think you’re lying around for?! You’re supposed to follow me!” a voice kept saying besides him, left with no other choice Sungmin opens his eyes and find himself face to face with the rabbit himself.

White fur, long white ears, a rather annoyed expression. He was really a rabbit… but rabbits aren’t supposed to talk! Sungmin thought, staring at the pissed off looking rabbit in front of him, what kind of weird twisted dream is this?!

Purposely he turned away from it, closing his eyes again and tried to calm himself “Wow, to have such crazy dream, I must be really tired…” he muses to himself, feeling a bit silly to be dreaming of rabbits. He was a guy for crying out loud.

Then there was a groan and a soft popping sound, before Sungmin found himself suddenly lifted from the ground. “W-What---” he gasped, looking at the ground below, oh damn, he really was in the air now. “What in the world!”

“Please don’t scream in my ear” the man who had lifted him up said softly, and Sungmin gaped blankly at him, he was wearing the same plaid clothes the rabbit earlier had been wearing, and he had bunny ears! He smiled at Sungmin, who suddenly found himself blushing while staring at the stranger.

Which didn’t last long as he finally recovered himself and started struggling. “Wait! Who the hell are you?!” he yelled, trying to kick him off “Put me down!” but then the man-formerly-rabbit suddenly started running, carrying Sungmin along with him.

“No can do” the other said, that smile never leaving his face “I’ll put you down when we get there”

There?! Where are they going?! Is this guy kidnapping me?! Sungmin cringed. “I demand you tell me where we are going right now!” he yelled, still trying to push the other off him but somehow despite being a martial arts expert was still powerless against him.

“We’re going into that hole” the man had stated simply, looking ahead and making Sungmin do the same. He gaped.

“How the hell did that hole get in my garden!?” he screamed, his mother and sister wasn’t going to be pleased when they see that! Wait a minute what did he mean going into that hole?!

“Hmnn, I wonder why” the man says “But if there is a hole then you must jump in it” and just like that, they jumped into it.

Sungmin screamed. “I’m going to fall! I don’t want to die!” he cried, feeling helpless as he fell down and down the dark hole.

“What was that? You don’t want to arrive yet?” the man was right beside him, looking perfectly calm, and what the hell was he doing being able to stand up while they were falling?!

“That’s not what I meant!” he yelled at him, wanting nothing more than hurt him. but his whole body was gripped in terror and he couldn’t move in fear.

The man seemed to enjoy this too much “Oh? Are you enjoying the feeling of falling? Isn’t it fun to fall?” his face was right next to Sungmin’s “It’s fun to fall when I’m with you” he whispered “I might like the feeling of falling too”

Sungmin gaped at him, if he wasn’t too scared he might’ve thought the man was hitting on him something.

He smiled at him “But we can’t keep falling forever” there was light. Light coming from the end. They were about to reach the end.

“And we might reach the end of the hole…” he says a bit mysteriously.

Sungmin was too busy dreading for his life to listen at the moment “I’m going to die!!!”

Then everything was dark.

Let the games begin.
